Lyric Prints

As part of the year 8 specialist 2D semester, they explore a range of art methods such as printmaking. This group explored reduction lino printing with the theme of song lyrics. They learnt about creating an emboss, then printing with a colour and finally adding the ‘key’, which is the black. Reducing their prints was a difficult method and also lining these up when printing was problematic. What refined prints these students have created with such complex imagery.

Postcards

The following drawings were create by a class of year 8’s. Their task was to imagine what the rest of a landscape could have been outside of a found postcard image. This as a drawing exercise not only pushed their own boundaries but also showed an insightful approach to creative thinking.
