Hungry Ghost Festival Lanterns

Last semester a group of year 7 students explored printmaking and sculpture following the theme of ‘the hungry ghost festival’ celebrated in many Asian countries. They each created foam prints for someone that has passed away in their life and printed these onto Joss paper. They covered cane lanterns they constructed with the printed Joss paper as a symbolic representation of the festival.
