Two year 8 classes have recently completed their sculpture unit of work titled ‘The Ordinary Person’. They initially researched the Impressionist Movement and connected the idea of ‘the everyday’ or ‘the ordinary’ within their own figurative sculpture. They modelled their own plaster sculptures of the human body proportions they investigated in class and also created scenes using oil paint. All students connected with this project in ways that were purely individual and showed a strong understanding of capturing real-life spontaneous scenarios within the context of the Impressionist movement.
