Hidden Realities

The year 10 students have just finished off their term studies into surrealism and painting. Students had the task of changing a simple object such as a cup or even a perfume bottle into the subject matter of an elaborate contemporary surrealist painting that involved some sort of ‘hidden reality’. They were encouraged to make these realities subtle within their painting so the viewer was left to ponder. All students were enthusiastic in how they approached this task and showed all individual ideas that were well resolved. Some students that finished early also incorporated oil paint glazing over their acrylic paintings to enhance the colours and depth to their work.

Students completed and refined their paintings with myself after Ms Button completed her 6 week practicum as they were unfinished.
